Movie Review - kingdom of heaven

first day 3rd show in regal theatres of mumbai......the theatre is supposed to be famous for something...its a old thetre with equally old cushion chairs......when i seached in google for some info abt regal all i could find was how voltas installed a new air freshner in the theatre....now back to the movie....

the movie starts in france ...the year was probably 1174.......the blacksmith's wife of hte village commits suicide for some unknown reason(to me)....the priest who is supposed to bury here takes her cross........then they show the village in which the blacksmith orlando bloom lives....... i felt that he is looking sad because of the unfortunate demise of his wife and kid......but the look on his face did not change when he was making love to the princess of jerusalem or when his father makes him a knight or even when his father teaches him to fight or when his subjects find water in the barren land............our man has one expression for every situation....one for all........

this guy kills the priest of the vilage cos the priest took his wife's cross......which in turn leads to the death of his father and his men....when they try to save orlando from the law..........our hero goes to jerusalem........to bury his wife's cross and to find the purpose of his life.......he meets the king who is in the verge of death, his sister the princess isabella and her husband the christian priest who fights and who is arrogant....... the king falls in instant love with our hero and asks him to marry his sister and lead his army against saladdin (the muslim king)..........in jerusalem christians, muslims and jews coexist peacefullt....except for a group of christian monks who are against muslims and go around killing muslims.......the princess's husband is the leader of this group.....

when the muslim king saladdin attacks Jerusalem the king leads the army to a lost cause....in the midst of the battle the king dies coz of his vague disease and now the army of jerusalem is in the hands of the new king (princess' ka hubby).........he leads his army against saladdin only to be killed......now our hero takes over and appoints himself as the commander and knights every single male in the city........they prepare the defences......and destroy the siege weapons of Saladdi......this is probablt the first movie to show siege weapons in such numbers..........thats it how long can someone hold a castle without food.....so jerusalem gives up and surrenders to the muslim king........

everyone praises our hero for such a courageous act............and the ppl are asked to move out of jerusalem.........

end of the story......no special effects....no hifi soundtracks...no hifi war scenes....... probably i didnot understand the movie cos i dont know the story of all these crusades.........the movie was a decent timepass.....
